Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Instalment.ca. By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the version that applies. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
We are not a lender, a broker, or a financial advisor. Instalment.ca provides general information and a matching service that connects consumers with licensed lending partners. Nothing on this site is an offer or a commitment to lend, and nothing here creates an advisor-client relationship. We do not make credit decisions, we do not set rates, fees, or terms, and we cannot guarantee that you will be approved, or that you will receive any particular rate, amount, or term. All credit decisions are made by the lender.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for your own financial decisions. You agree to use the site lawfully and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to access data you are not entitled to, or use automated tools to scrape or republish our content. If you submit false or misleading information, you are responsible for the consequences, including any effect on an application with a lender.
Third-party links and partners. The site contains links to third-party websites and offers, including our lending partners. We do not control those sites, and we are not responsible for their content, products, or practices. Their terms of use and privacy policies apply when you visit them. A link does not mean we endorse a particular lender, product, or rate, and we are not a party to any agreement you enter into with a lender.
Intellectual property. The content, design, layout, graphics, and marks on this site are owned by us or used with permission, and they are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, republish, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission, except for brief quotations with clear attribution and a link back to the source page.
Limitation of liability. The site and its content are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the content, from a third-party site or service, or from any credit decision made by a lender. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site, which is nothing, because the site is free to use.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. You agree that the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site. Nothing in these terms waives any mandatory right or protection you have under the consumer protection laws of your own province or territory, and nothing here limits your ability to bring a complaint to the appropriate regulator.
The loan agreement governs the loan. The agreement you sign with a lender is the governing document for that loan. If anything on this site appears to conflict with the lender agreement or the lender disclosure, the lender agreement and disclosure prevail. Always read them in full before you sign, and keep a copy for your records. If a term in the agreement is unclear, ask the lender to explain it in writing before you sign, and do not rely on a verbal summary.
