Instalment.ca is a loan matching and comparison service for Canadians. We help you understand how instalment loans, personal loans, payday loans, car loans, home equity products, and business loans work, and we connect you with licensed lending partners when you are ready to look at offers. We are not a lender, not a broker, and not a financial advisor. We do not make credit decisions, we do not set rates or terms, and we cannot approve anyone for credit.
Our guides are written to answer a real question quickly and then explain the detail behind it. Each one opens with a direct answer, covers the trade-offs, and cites authoritative Canadian sources so you can check the facts yourself. Where a comparison helps, we use a table rather than a wall of text. We do not publish lender names, star ratings, or testimonials, because we cannot verify them and they would not help you decide.
How we make money. Instalment.ca is free for consumers. When you click a link to a lending partner or submit a request through our form, we may earn a commission from that partner. This is how the site is funded. Commissions do not decide which products appear on the site or the order in which they appear, and they do not change the information we publish. Our editorial content is written independently of any commercial arrangement.
Editorial standards. Our content is researched and reviewed by our internal editorial team against primary Canadian sources, including the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency, the Bank of Canada, and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. We avoid quoting lender-specific rates unless we can attribute them to a published source. We review our guides on a regular cycle and update them when federal or provincial rules change. Pages carry visible update dates, and we do not backdate them.
