Privacy Policy

What we collect. We collect three broad types of information. First, technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and timestamps, which our servers record automatically. Second, usage data collected through cookies and analytics tools, which helps us understand how visitors find and use the site. Third, the information you choose to submit through our forms, which can include your name, contact details, province or territory, the amount you are looking for, your income range, and your employment situation.

How we use it. We use technical and usage data to operate, secure, and improve the site, to measure which content is useful, and to detect abuse. We use the information you submit to respond to your request and to pass your details to one or more lending partners so they can assess whether they can offer you credit. We do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to the service you asked for.

Cookies and analytics. We and our third-party providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to remember preferences and to measure traffic. Analytics data is generally aggregated, but it can be linked to a device or browser identifier. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can clear cookies at any time. If you disable cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended, but you can still read our guides.

Third-party lending partners. When you submit a request, your information is shared with one or more lending partners so they can contact you and assess your request. Those partners are separate organizations, and their own privacy policies govern how they handle your information once they receive it. We do not control their practices and encourage you to read their policies before you proceed with an application. We may also share information with service providers who help us run the site, and where the law requires it.

Retention and security. We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as the law requires, and then we delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce risk and to limit what we collect in the first place.

Access, correction, and contact. You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or withdraw your consent to certain uses, subject to legal and contractual limits. Send those requests to support@instalment.ca. This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will remove it.
